If you’re interested in taking an AmaWaterways river cruise, you probably have some questions about onboard amenities. In this article, we’ll tell you all about your options for doing laundry while on a cruise, including what the AmaWaterways laundry price is and how the service works.
Onboard all AmaWaterways ships there is an optional laundry service that will wash and iron your clothes. However, they are not able to dry clean anything, so keep that in mind when packing for your trip. When you use the laundry service, you usually get your clothes back either the same day or the following morning.
If you want your clothes washed and/or ironed, there is a fee. An AmaWaterways laundry price list can be found in your stateroom that will tell you all the charges.
While the company does not give price quotes on its website, some cruisers have shared an AmaWaterways laundry price list PDF online. According to that, prices are (per item, in euros):
Hankerchief: .60 for washing, .90 for washing and ironing
Underwear/socks: 1.20 for washing
T-shirt: 1.20 for washing, 2.10 for washing and ironing
Swimsuit: 1.60 for washing
Shorts: 1.50 for washing, 2.60 for washing and ironing
Pajamas: 1.60 for washing, 2.90 for washing and ironing
Sweater: 1.70 for washing, 3.20 for washing and ironing
Blouse: 1.80 for washing, 3.20 for washing and ironing
Cardigan: 2 for washing, 3.70 for washing and ironing
Pants/jeans: 2 for washing, 3.80 for washing and ironing
Dress: 2.50 for washing, 5.50 for washing and ironing
We aren’t sure how current these prices are, but we do know that prices vary from ship to ship. If it’s something you’re concerned about, you can call the company directly and ask about the specific ship that you are booked on.
However, if you are booked in a suite on an AmaWaterways cruise, laundry services are included in your fare.
While most guests were pleased with the onboard laundry service and found it to be very reasonably priced, some have noted that their clothing was damaged or lost, so you may want to consider that as you pack for your trip.
Using the AmaWaterways laundry service is a great way to pack light on your river cruise. If you’re wondering, “what is the dress code for an AmaWaaterways river cruise?” check out our article on the AmaWateways dress code here. That will help you figure out what clothes you need to bring.
Do Ama river cruises have laundry facilities?
The answer to this question is both yes and no. There are no self-service laundry facilities on most AmaWaterways ships.
However, on the company’s European flagship AmaMagna, there is a laundry room with a washer, dryer, and ironing board that guests can use for no charge.
Is AmaWaterways all inclusive?
While the answer to this question is yes, AmaWaterways cruises are all inclusive, as we discussed above, your fare does not always cover laundry service.
Your fare on an AmaWaterways river cruise will include all meals and drinks onboard, evening entertainment, and WiFi, as well as multiple onshore excursions. However, unless you book a suite, you will have to pay extra for laundry.
FYI, while most ships do not have self-serve laundry facilities, AmaMagna does, and they are complimentary.
Gratuities are not included. How much are gratuities on AmaWaterways? While the total amount is up to you, the cruise line suggests 3 euros per guest per day for the Cruise Manager and 12 euros per guest per day for the crew, which will share the tips. Additionally, they suggest tipping your excursion guides 2 euros per guest per day. All gratuities on AmaWaterways cruises must be paid in cash, rather than by credit card.
