We’ve all heard about the need to make reservations to visit some of America’s most popular national parks.
But now, get ready for advance reservations and, in some cases, added fees if you just want to hike there.
Want to walk in the Adirondack Mountain Reserve in New York?
You’ll need a reservation — only 70 are available every day (after October 31st until the end of April, it’s free).
Want to hike the Inyo National Forest? They have a lottery system, and if you happen to win, it’s $15 for the permit to hike Mount Whitney. Only 100 slots are available per day, so always call ahead of time to determine the reservation and permit rules, or you may just have to…take a hike…elsewhere.
